Experience of Nurses Participating in Comprehensive Nursing Care

Introduction to Experience of Nurses Participating in Comprehensive Nursing Care

Over an interview with Chris Mitrevski, I found some facts while involving ourselves in a conversation, which provided me with so much information. Mr Chris Mitrevski being a Registered Nurse, I was excessively excited to interview him. I prepared a report after our conversation ended, the interview was accomplished focusing on the information I found, and more precisely, I would focus on the three things, which are as my experience about the interview throughout the whole process who is presently facing a substance use disorder and their readiness to change. The most challenging part of the interview or experience, which he is confronting has also been discussed. Further, the ways in which taking part in the interview will help me in the future and develop better therapeutic skills for tackling people are also hihlighted.

Discussion on Experience of Nurses Participating in Comprehensive Nursing Care

Now, throwing light on the actual interview describing the interview in short, Mr Chris Mitrevski is a Registered Nurse who works in the Intensive Care Department of a quite busy city Hospital. It has been observed that during a night shift while he was smelling of alcohol, and the other staffs of the hospital, his co-colleagues asked him he mentioned that it was just his friend's dinner party and he took a few drinks as it was not possible for him to avoid it and it was just prior the shift. Moreover, he frequently meets his friends for dinner and consumes quite a number of drinks. From the interview, more information is inculcated that he no longer eats at home as he reasons out that his partner died in a motor vehicle accident which is quite six months ago. Due to loneliness, he does these. He just goes to his home to sleep after changing his clothes. He also mentioned that he takes alcohol, 5mg Valium tablets, 10mg temazepam if he does not catch sleep. In addition to that before his shift starts, he takes 5mg of Valium prior to stabilizing himself.

As per the Driscoll (2007) model of reflection, the three stem questions will be focused in order to understand the scenario of Mr Chris.

What?

The most important issue is that he does not regard these as problems but when his partner was alive, he never consumed so much alcohol. Having habits of Valium and alcohol and himself being a Registered Nurse, he refers himself to be perfectly fine.

Overall Experience

My experience from the interview was quite interesting and ironical. According to his words in the interview it is clear that he does not regard all these issues to be a problem to go to a Councillor, and he mentions that it does not affect his work in the hospital in any way and he believes that he is all-ok. In spite of being a Registered Nurse who should be sound and aware of health issues and works in an intensive care unit, the irony lies that he does not care about consuming alcohol, Valium, and Temazepam tablets and it mentions that he is ok.

So What?

He does not think that he has a problem with alcohol. The change of his life and the fact that he is going through the disturbance of loneliness and he not understanding it is a Registered Nurse was the most challenging issue while the interview was going on.

Elements of The Interview Process that Were Challenging

The most challenging part in the interview was the contrary that is while knowing is previous life when his wife was alive he never consumed so much of alcohol (Shin & Park, 2015). In fact, he mentioned that he did not use smoking substances like cigarettes but the present life he is going through in which to catch up sleep he needs to engross himself with alcohol, Valium tablets that are not at all good for health. The irony is after the death of his wife the Loneliness, which according to me is the main reason for the change, he never thought of consulting the issues with a Councillor (Lee & Jung, 2015).

Now What?

From the interview, I tried hearing through and tackling the changing mood.

Impact of The Interview Techniques on The Development of Therapeutic Relationships in The Future

From the interview, the Change of life a person went through without realising it and coping up with it was something, which really hit hard. Being a witness to confront the issues understanding the irony of a person's life (Park, Yu, & Kim, 2017). In future knowing the facts that how loneliness or being alone could change a person would help me as a therapist to deal with others facing the same problem (Lee & Chang, 2016).

Conclusion on Mr. Chris Mitrevski Case Study

On concluding the report, I would like to mention that a Registered Nurse who should be aware of sound health issues and work in an intensive care unit. He himself uses alcohol out of loneliness, is not aware of his health, and does not even recognise that he has a problem and he should seek help.
