Initiating in Wuhan, China the widespread has prolonged in each and every province of the nation, with distressing neighboring nations like India, Russia, Tibet and further countries in its reach (Shervani and Qazi 2020). Also, in the first quarter of the year the virus epidemically outbreaked in all the countries of the world. The 2020 Olympics where to be held in Tokyo, Japan in the middle of the year. In several countries the governing body cancelled all its major events that are to held. Major companies like intel, Docomo, Nokia and many more were invested to bring cutting edge technology in the Olympics which is now to seeing to be delayed due to the virus outbreak. This assignment will brief on the innovation in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with its enablers and barriers (Muñoz 2020s).

The Covid-19 Virus Outbreak

The starting of 2020 showed an epidemic virus named Covid-19 that break through the boundaries of China. World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the state of emergency concerning the virus and maintain social distance. In the mid 2020 the virus has outbreaked in all the countries of the world which resulted in major cancellation of events, travel and work. The cases of people infected with Covid-19 virus is growing exponentially and each country in concerned and anxious to get control on it. The WHO has cancelled the ad-hoc events and use of social distancing has been made compulsory. Travel has been restricted with routes minimization without hindering basic services. People are voluntarily requested to be inside their home as quarantined and restrict themselves in coming contact with people (Ribas et al. 2020). Proper flow of communication must take place in each country and health services to ensure that there is no spread of bogus news, facts and panic. This type of routine must be followed everywhere until there is some sort of cure and vaccine arrive in the market. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 were due to open on 24th of July and commence for half a month, but then again, the Covid-19 virus epidemic enforced the rescheduling of the events. The International Olympics Committee and Japan has for quite few times claimed the show might commence on but due to the swift outbreak of corona virus cases provoked rising unrest amongst sportspersons and honorable partnerships. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics is the main outline sporting fatality because of the corona virus which has smeared gaming schedule globally and also had halted other professional sporting events (Taku and Arai 2020).

The Barriers in Technology

This is not the first time a virus has outbreaked and caused panic in the people and sportspersons. Many sport events happened in the presence of the virus in the history like the N1H1 influenza pandemic happened across the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics and also during outbreak of Ebola virus which happened across Rio 2016 Olympics. During these outbreaks many sportsperson and people did not attend the event.

All the health services and facilities been given number one priority with appropriate equipment to be provided in in healthcare department. The consequences of these drastic measures could not be predicted yet. Many researchers and sportsperson agree that in future the basic functionality of the industry will surely change. Japan in order to aware masses has declared state of emergency in 7 major prefectures with seeing spike in covid-19 cases. Even though Japan has apparently evaded the wickedest of the epidemic, the Japanese administration has been underneath growing burden from resident leaders and the Japan medical assembly to do further in order to control the virus blowout. Criticizers have jagged to the strangely small quantity of testing in Japan by means of just through half its volume of 7000 tests per day in addition to a reply which had apparently solitary ramped up since the Tokyo Olympics 2020 has to be on hold. Covid-19 has proposed expressively challenging to the day to day tasks. All the employers and workers need to prevent themselves from getting in contact with the virus and also not to be the source of spreading this virus (Sato et al. 2020).

It has become evident that people need to maintain space with their colleagues. Due to this pandemic there are companies that have invested in Tokyo Olympics 2020 have been suffering from it. The present condition is becoming a noticeable barrier in implementing new technologies in work. People are getting panicked and proper technological implementation procedure is not effectively taking place. Also, with no cure it is hard to decide if the Tokyo Olympics will be initiated. Many organizations had planned for showing the world that the Tokyo Olympics will set a new benchmark in showcasing technology. The main highlights were to show the implementation of innovations that will change the human perception and will be much more evident in the future. The pandemic is not giving the technology companies to further implement and test these technologies. It is tough in these scenarios where the priority if world is at healthcare and funds are needed for the research of the vaccines and cure. This pandemic is creating delay in schedules and innovation in each sector with either by its cancellation or suspension. In these situations, the countries are looking for building more healthcare sectors for treatment of infected people at much larger level than ever before. Several sectors are begged down and industries are unable to provide their services and facilities. This barrier has resulted in complete worldwide delay of the innovation and forwardness of the countries (Ahmed and Memish 2020).

The Enablers in Technology

Many companies with their association with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is preparing for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to be a benchmark in showcasing the leading and future technologies. The Tokyo Olympics envisioned to bring some innovative technologies with the commencement of the Olympics. The intel organizations are preparing to build Virtual Reality (VR) system to enhance viewing experience and showcase its potential in the businesses. This technological advancement will bring the innovation at a large scale. Through this venture intel is proposing to build facial recognition system for better contactless verifications. This will completely revolutionize the registration procedure in the city with collecting thousands of data and making a better and reliable system. This will avoid frauds and halt in bookings with faster ID check and enable much smoother experience overall. This implementation of technology will let the people of Tokyo for more immersive enjoyment of the games. The visualization and artificial intelligence with intel processors will enable in getting the raw data of the athletic movements and further train to understand the game better. This will also help in broadcasting the replays of the games and other events (Shigemura and Kurosawa 2020).

The robot village will enable social distancing and basic fulfillment of basic services and facilities during the Olympics. The Japan is known to be having leading edge in robotics and mechatronics, they developed various prototypes of robots that are used in organizations and businesses for the better efficiency and effectiveness. These robots will assist the people which will let them to trust innovating technologies. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will bring individuals with different language and to build a bridge for effective communication the city is trying to build a real-time language translator before the commencement of the games. For better making the experience a Japanese software company named Dena and robotics firm set up to robot taxi to operate autonomous vehicles and an online facility to facilitate the athletes and administration to carry them to the stadiums. The Japanese government has planned to invest in hydrogen sourced power with huge pipelines fueling the power sources. This fuel cells are also envisioned to power the cars for going much greener and cleaner (Xiang et al. 2020).
