Exams are used to assess a student’s understanding of a subject. Exams have played an important role from time immemorial, as far as education is concerned. This essay discusses whether tests are best way to evaluate a student’s performance.

Take the example of a lawyer, if a law student can’t give examination under stressful conditions then how will he face judges or jury in court of law. Similarly in corporate world every one works under strict deadline thus they have to perform under lot of pressure.
It can be concluded that exams are important for any university student to get him ready for the real world problems. It is not necessary to scrap examination, as exam promotes competitiveness and fairness. Tests are thus best way to assess students’ performance as no other method is available to assess students’ performance objectively.
