Good Afternoon everyone September 25, 2020

Internet routing can be an enticingly broad concept that relies on many diverse fields. I have decided to concentrate this week on the safety issues that can affect communication. The internet has become a valuable aspect of the personal activities of many individuals. The web's accessibility provides an opportunity for enterprise, education, communication, and enjoyment. Moreover, the internet was developed significantly during a period where the development was the main focus over the necessity for protection that leads to the exploitation of several diverse sorts of security issues (Constantin, 2016). The email hacking, fake routing content, and trouble in monitoring distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks are among the sorts of glitches that can be used. The hacking of the account enables intruders to transmit unwanted activity that seems to arrive from another IP address. Such vulnerabilities go unfixed because there are no controlling bodies in place that can make Internet Service Providers (ISPs) implement security techniques when it comes to routing. In 2014 there was an organization created called MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security) that offers network operators the option to participate in the program by committing to placing security controls on their networks that would address the vulnerabilities mentioned above (Constantin, 2016). This group is solely optional and not a mandated controlling body. If an organization participates in the program and applies the security controls, then their network and websites will hopefully be free from the routing vulnerabilities, but there are still many more ISPs that are not participating because the program is not mandated. It means that security will continue to be a concern around routing for many years to come. Improvements are being made, but without governance, ISPs are not required to place the security measures on their networks so attackers will continue to take advantage of the holes in the system.

With Respect,
